I ‘ve got some exciting news to share!

But first, what have I been up to this October? I participated in a writing challenge of writing 30,000 words during the month. I had set a personal goal of 50k since I don’t plan on participating in any of the NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month) like challenges in November. I was able to write 51k words and I finished two projects.

First was the latest draft of Heir of the Elements. A few fun facts about it: It’s 50,059 words, so it’s on the shorter side. It has 22 chapters and chapters 10 and 11 are my favorites. I made several major changes and condensed some parts of the plot, but I am much happier with the story now.

The second project was the novella that will be releasing in the first volume of my fantasy war series. I wrote the whole thing in October and it ended up being 18,415 words with 10 chapters. I had fun writing it and getting to know the main character better. I’ve written her POV before, but only in later books. This time, I got to see where it all started and spent several days learning her story. Since it was a first draft, it was pretty rough and there’s a lot of edits that need to be made. Overall, though, I’m happy with how it turned out.

I also got a few chapters done of the main novel that will be released with the novella. For a while, I felt bored with the book and was fighting writer’s block. But after finishing the novella, I found I was excited to return to the main story and finish it out. Right now it’s at 44,186 words. I think it will end up around 70k words, possibly a bit more. As far as my November plans go, I mostly expect to keep chipping away on this project.

And now, for my news!

The official release date for Heir of the Elements is January 6th, 2026! Unfortunately there won’t be a pre-order, due to some logistical reasons. I’ll be selling the ebook direct from my website. This way it can be uploaded to the reader’s preferred platform and they’ll own their copy of the book- unlike Kindle, which only sells a license. The paperback will be available for purchase from Amazon or in-person. For now, these will be the only ways to get the book.

If you’re interested in getting Heir of the Elements, the best way to stay in the know will be through my new newsletter. From now on, my monthly updates will be exclusive to my newsletter. The only posts on my website will be for announcements, such as book releases.

When you sign up for my newsletter, you’ll get access to a sneak peek of the first chapter of Heir of the Elements! I’m so excited to share part of this story and can’t wait until it releases next year.

I hope everyone had a wonderful month and has a good start to the holiday season.

Until next time,
